They cried “More More More!” 60 volunteers appeared at our first tree planting right on Freshwater Creek along the new Brinsmead to Redlynch Bike Path and 540 trees were planted in a flash.
This project is supported by Treeforce, through funding from the Queensland Government’s Everyone’s Environment Grant and Member for Barron River, Craig Crawford, attended and thanked the volunteers for their great efforts. Cr Linda Cooper also came along to support us.
A strong rousing presence from 9 of the “Barrow Belles” preparing for the Mareeba to Chillagoe wheelbarrow race bumped the numbers up a bit. A great morning all round and the banks of Freshwater Creek are already looking better for it.
