20 Years later Treeforce return to plant trees at Bill Fulton Bridge on Freshwater Creek

From January 2000 to December 2002 Treeforce planted trees along Freshwater Creek from Glenoma Park to the Bill Fulton Bridge after the Western Arterial Rd was completed. This Sunday, July 7 we return at 7.30am…. but on the other side of the creek, to plant 675 trees as part of the Cairns Regional Council’s Redlynch Master Plan.

Treeforce and the council have planted trees over 5km of Freshwater creek line from 2000 to 2019 to protect the creek from erosion and improve water quality & biodiversity. A great effort by a community volunteer group! Some of our volunteers have been planting trees with Treeforce for 22 to 28 years!

All past and present volunteers are welcome to join us….we will be celebrating by planting a tree or two :) and a supplied morning tea. Park at Glenoma Park then follow the bike path past the bridge. Bring sun smart gear, gloves, covered shoes & water.

See you there!

This project is supported by Cairns Regional Council and Woolworths Redlynch Central.
