The Great Northern Clean Up has been going for 10 years and Treeforce has been hosting Clean Ups for 10 Years!
We always return to our Lower Freshwater Rd site at the the bridge because this is where all the rubbish in Freshwater Creek ends up before it flows into the Barron River and out to sea.
Join us for the Clean Up from 7 to 8.15 am, followed by our AGM at 8.30 am. Morning tea will be supplied.
Bring sun smart gear, covered shoes, gloves and water for the Clean Up, and a chair for the AGM.
Directions: Lower Freshwater Rd runs between the Freshwater Railway station and Peace Lutheran College. There is a bridge on this little back road and that is where we will be.
Phone 0435 016 906 for more information :)
This project is supported by Treeforce and the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.
Good News…Thanks to 32 keen volunteers, our 2019 Great Northern Clean Up on Freshwater Creek at the Lower Freshwater Rd bridge yielded less rubbish this year compared to others. A WIN but still a long way to go…Less plastic bags but 16 TYRES! and the COUCH was RETRO this year 🌳👏👎 Other items included air conditioners, boat propellers, a toilet seat, a TV and an assortment of nearly full cleaning fluid bottles. We need security camera signage here Cairns Regional Council Councillor Linda Cooper We found an address amongst the rubbish so look out illegal dumpers! The AGM went well and the baking was outstanding😀
