On Sunday March 21, Treeforce celebrated 30 years of tree planting in the Cairns region. It all started with the Tree Train in 1991 and despite many challenges we are still going strong and keeping relevant in this changing world. We had a great morning on the banks of beautiful Freshwater Creek catching up with old friends and making new ones, planting trees, throwing gumboots, enjoying the face painting and eating the wonderful cake made by our youngest committee member, Ryan, from Orangerie Patisserie.
This project received grant funding from the Australian Government’s Communities Environment Program and the Queensland Department of Environment and Science’s Qld Citizen Science Grant.
