Sunday 20th October, 2013 What a welcome surprise the recent rain showers have been. Although light, every drop of moisture helps and thanks to Steve who took an extra load of water down last weekend!
Sunday brought a fine, sunny morning for us to pay extra attention to the trees planted in the ‘near end’ of the Chook Farm site. The soil here is very dry, quite compact and likely more compromised, by the closer proximity to the salty Barron River tides, than any other section of plantings. Regular watering should help these trees ‘perk up’ enough to see them through the summer conditions.
