We returned to the older sites at St Andrews to see how they were growing.
Cairns regional Council has been maintaining the weed spraying on that site to leave us free for the Barron River Chook Farm Project. Some losses on the JTA site were evident, but all in all still a viable habitat growing there. One of the reveg plots (planted July last year) was still swamped with guinea grass, so we jumped in for some “full body weeding”.
Many trees were rescued and much of the guinea grass had been flattened, so we have called on Dave Lloyd from council to come in and spray out the plot for us.
