Hi Tree Planters,

The sun is shining and our sites are drying out so the Treeforce crew are excited about our big new project to plant 5,000 trees along Freshwater Creek as part of the Council’s Redlynch Sports and Recreation Master Plan (RMP).

This RMP includes an extension of the bike/walking paths from the existing Goomboora Park bike path, downstream through our established tree plantings behind St. Andrews Catholic College, then along Freshwater Creek to a new bridge connecting Glenoma Park. At a later date new sports fields will surround the new AFL Cape York House for girls on Portelli Rd.

Treeforce will be involved in the project by planting 5,000 trees along Freshwater Creek in May and June and as you can imagine we need lots of volunteers to achieve this goal so dust off your tree planting gloves. Basically keep all of your Sunday mornings 7.30-10am free!

Here are the dates for your diary

May 26 – 800 trees

June 9 – 800 trees

June 16 – 800 trees

June 23 – 800 trees

June 30 – 800 trees

Bring sun smart gear, covered shoes, gloves and water.

Access to the site will be the same as previously i.e. Turn left at the lights opposite Coles at Redlynch Central shopping centre (Portelli Rd) then follow the signs.

Tell your friends….all the RMP Tree Plantings are all child friendly so bring the family!
